Tips to Start a Dropshipping Business In Nigeria, Uk and The US

Drop shipping:

Did you know that according to Datareportal, approximately 4.95 billion people will use the internet globally in 2022, accounting for 62.5% of the world’s total population? According to this evidence, people now feel more at ease making purchases online because it is easier and less stressful.

People, for example, buy goods online and pay with a credit card from the comfort of their home country; these goods are then shipped to their destinations in safe custody. That being said, what comes to mind when you hear the phrase “drop servicing”? Of course, “dropshipping.” Dropshipping and drop servicing, on the other hand, are two distinct business chains in their own right.

Dropshipping is an order fulfillment method in which the store does not keep the products it sells in stock, but instead purchases such products from a third-party supplier who ships directly to the customer.

A customer then inquires about purchasing such an item, and the store accepts the order after agreeing on a price with the customer. The item is then obtained from a third-party EFG that has it in stock.

Following successful payment, the third-party ships the product to the customer CDE in accordance with the store’s instructions. Nota bene: The store purchases the item for a lower price than the customer negotiated, then profits from the difference.

Drop serving:

Drop servicing is an arrangement in which a service provider positions himself as an expert who is knowledgeable about a service, such as programming, website design, animation, content writing, copywriting, and so on, when someone requests such service.

He bargains with the customer about the price, and once an agreement is reached, the drop service provider outsources the service to an industry expert, usually a freelancer, who is knowledgeable enough about the service or has the skill.

The expert charges a fee for the service, and the drop service provider pays the expert a fraction of the amount agreed upon with the customer before finally delivering the service to the customer. The beauty of the drop service business is that you don’t need any special skills to cash out from a client; all you need is the knowledge I’ll show you in this guide.

You do not need to be skilled in dropshipping to reap your own slice of the pie, just as you do not need to have a physical product in dropshipping. What are you waiting for? Money is being made in this business every second, real money, so what are you waiting for?

How to Begin a Dropshipping Business

You must pay close attention because getting it right the first time will ensure your success in this business. As a result, you must follow the steps outlined below exactly as detailed.

First one:

Select a service. Don’t try your hand at everything at once; instead, pick a niche and capitalize on it. In this case, you should be aware of the profitable niches in this industry, which include -Digital marketing.

– Design of graphics
– Writing Programming (Copywriting, project writing, editing, etc.)
– Video production (animation, etc.)

Second Step:

Develop a website/brand. The goal of developing a website is to establish yourself as an expert/professional in the niche you’ve chosen. The website is your store, a reliable online presence that customers can rely on.

A drop servicer should be seen rather than heard; similarly to how customers will locate your offline stores for patronage, this is how your website will be visited to check out the service you provide; it also provides you with credibility.

You don’t need a coding task to design a website; a simple WordPress with a responsive theme will suffice. Create a few categories for your service.

For instance, an about/description page, a contact page/very important for clients to reach you, a hire me page/tell potential clients what you do and why they should hire you as the best hand, and so on.

Third step:

Increase traffic and leads to your drop-servicing website. After you’ve created a professional website, you’ll need to go looking for customers, not with guns, but by driving traffic to your website.

How to drive traffic to your website: This is where a little technicality, albeit a simple one, will be required. Driving traffic to your website entails a number of strategies, which I will outline for you.

#1. Content marketing/SEO:

Content marketing entails creating and distributing content that is appealing to your target audience. In this case, I’ll opt for educational content that my clients can benefit from. You should publish content that is relevant to your niche purpose, educates your clients, and solves their problems.

After you’ve curated this content, the next step is to implement an SEO strategy. SEO stands for “Search Engine Optimization.” This is a technique for making your content appealing to search engines, particularly Google.

Why would you want to write content that Google will find appealing? Google is the most popular search engine, and SEO is by far the best way to get started with content marketing without spending a dime.

The great thing about this is that Google will send you free traffic as long as you do your SEO correctly. I’ve had SEO proficiency in my blogs, so I know what it means. I’ve never spent a dime on content marketing; all I’ve spent is patiently waiting for Google to crawl and index my content.

SEO Fundamentals

Keyword research: In order to benefit from Google traffic, you must conduct keyword research prior to writing and hitting the publish button. The goal of keyword research is to create content that revolves around a central phrase that your readers/clients are searching for on Google.

Format your content as follows:

  • Format your content so that it is easily accessible.
  • Install the YOAST SEO plugin on your website: it provides feedback on what needs to be improved before publishing, and without it, Google may fail to index your content.

Interlink your content:

Always link your newer content to your older content; this allows Google to index and finds your content with a network structure, it improves your session and lowers your bounce rate, and so on.

#2. Run ads:

Running ads on social media platforms/Google AdWords is another way to get clients’ attention. While this may produce a timely result, it may be costly for you and only guarantees an immediate effect. The advertising principle is based on immediate results; you will need to run additional ads to be seen.

That is probably why I prefer the SEO strategy because it will drive unique traffic to my websites as long as they can be found on the internet. The older a piece of content is published with an SEO strategy, the higher it ranks in Google results. You can run ads on Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, and other social media platforms.

Fourth Step:

Locate freelancers:

You finally got your first client through the lead mentioned above generation strategies; you’ve agreed on a price; now it’s time to find the ideal freelancer for the job. Where and how do you find a freelancer to do the job? Because you lack this skill, you will have to search freelance websites such as Fiverr, Upwork, and others to find a freelancer who will deliver.

Sign up for any of the job sites mentioned above, or any other competent one. On these platforms, you will meet expert freelancers with the necessary skill set, assign them the job, negotiate the price, and set a deadline for submission.

Typically, you will outsource the job for less than you agreed with the client in the first place, and the difference becomes your profit. Assuming you agreed to a $1,000 writing service with a client, you could outsource it for $300 and keep the remaining $700 as your profit. This is how the dropshipping business makes money.

Fifth Step:

Verify quality and complete the project. After receiving the job from the freelancer, check the quality. If you are satisfied with the work, forward it to the client, who will review and accept it.

Note: Always agree with a freelancer to return a job for correction if a client requests it, and work with freelancers who will adhere to time and deadlines. Take note: nothing kills a business like failing to deliver on time.

Step six:

In the end, request testimonials. Always request testimonials from clients who have received excellent service. Why do you require a reference? You must include it on your website; it will always serve as convincing evidence for potential clients to trust your brand for similar projects.

Conclusion:

Anyone who wants to benefit from the freelance industry can start a dropshipping business; there is no rocket science involved; now you have the A, B, and C of everything you need to get started. I’d love to read your progress report as you gather the courage to begin.
